these are letters from inmates around the united states. an attempt to document the abuses suffered every day in the us prison system through firsthand accounts.
why?

to give a platform to people who have no platform and who have been subjected to unfair and unethical treatment.
why Should I care?

the american prison system is a close relative of slavery. A lot of money is involved. And it disproportionately affects poor people, black people, and brown people. companies use prison labor and exploit prisoner-workers for pennies. this is not about crime, it's about money.
